Spelthorne Council, member of 2M group backs third runway

With just six days to go before the end of the Government Consultation into adding capacity at heathrow airport, Spelthorne Council, one of the 2M group of 12 councils around Heathrow who have campaigned consistently  against expansion at Heathrow, voted in favour of building a third runway at the airport.

Lord Clive Soley, Campaign Director for Future Heathrow welcomed Spelthorne's decision, and said that  the decision as well as the recent Populus Poll of local residents, calls into question 2M's claims to represent the majority of views on Heathrow expansion.
